ALL PLAY ... ON A DISNEY HOLIDAY" PULLED GREEK AND INDEPENDENT TOGETHER TO VIE FOR TROPHIES AND THE ATTENTION OF A SMALL CROWD.Fun and gaiety a la Disney prevailed at the W R A Carnival. All fraternities and sororities and some independent organizations participated in the events and activities of the "No Work ... All Play ... On a Disney Holiday" theme. Trophies for first and second place winners were awarded to Tri-Delta, Delta Gamma, Lambda Chi Alpha and Pi Kappa Alpha in the booth contest, and Delta Gamma, Alpha Phi, Sigma Chi, and Lambda Chi Alpha for the best cakes. Judy Earl and Dick Ruppel piled up the most winning votes in the "Lady and the Tramp" contest. Reigning as Cinderella, Diane Teece presided over the diversified booths, which offered something for all. Everything from tacos to scones and cakes were sold. Frustrations were worked out on the pie throwing and dunking booths, and the kissing booth was, as usual, a great favorite with the males. However, most of the students must have been at home watching Disneyland on T.V., because the carnival was very poorly supported. The odor of hot dogs drifted amongst the sling shooters.219 |
