Wasting no time Startin passed to Brown who carried the pigskin down to score. And Utah had lost their first conference game.Utah's game with Idaho brought the Ute's second defeat in the football season and Utah's third straight loss to the Vandals.The fourth quarter gave the greatest hope to the Redskin fans although the score was 20 to 0. Mastelotto carried the ball down to Idaho's one-yard line, but couldn't break through. After four attempts, Utah could still not penetrate Idaho's line. The first and third quarters saw a lot of action, but no score was made. Idaho's Ken Hall broke hrough Utah's line twice in the second quarter for a pair of touchdowns and a score of 14 to 0.Disinterested Ute fans saw their team slowly go down in defeat and also saw Idaho's Hall play some good ball, tallying up 94 yards in the first half and some superb kicks for the Vandals.The Redskins were outclassed and outplayed by the University of California Golden Bears in this, the fourth game of the season. The Bears put Coach Pete Elliott's intricate split "T" offense into action and walked over the Utes to the tune of 36 to 21.But the Utes made a comeback in their Homecoming game which was a thriller and a morale lifter for the fans. With three touchdowns on Utah's side, the Utes emerged with a 20 to 16 victory over the University of Denver in Utah's Homecoming game. One of the most hectic parts of the game came in the last two minutes after Utah had made their last touchdown and brought them into a 20 to 16 lead.
