Show BOARD OF REGENTScommunity and state leaders who set University policy and rulings...Like most state universities, the University of Utah is governed by a Board of Regents, members of the state citizenry so interested as to spend long hours in the establishment of university policies and the resperation of higher learning.Twelve of the fifteen members, who serve four year terms, are gubernatorial appointees, confirmed by the state senate. Also on the Board are the President of the University, the Secretary of State, and the President of the Alumni Association.Holding its regular monthly meetings in.the Union Building, the board hears reports from the President and other administrative officers on activities of the University and gives advice on University problems. These meetings are chiefly concerned with financial and budgetary problems created by the rapid growth of student enrollment. To meet this pressing problem, the Board has embarked upon a long range building program which will include such buildings as a new multi-storied library, a bookstore, engineering building, and a medical center for the 1970 University of Utah campus.Members of the Board include (left to right): row one, A.
