Show - 38 - "Girls, are you up there?" A voice called from the stairway. Penny and Vicky were so engrossed in their conversation with the ghost that they did not hear Maddie's footsteps. "Your mother needs you below," Then as it it was not important, she added. "I see Claudine has been here." They turned back to where the ghost had been standing. She was not there. "She'll return, I know. Tom and I love been her dearly and up until now we've the only ones to see her. She's been like a daughter to us and now I see that Claudine has found two more friends. I know she would never have appeared if she had arydoubts about you." "Is that why she took so long before she allowed Vicky to see her?" wondered Penny out loud. "Perhaps," answered Maddie. "Will you tell us about her," interjected Vicky. "Yes, I think it's time for me to tell you the story of-Claudine and Dirk Vallone as I knew them, but it will have to wait for another occasion. Don't worry," she added, as she saw their disappointed looks. I 11 not keep you in suspense too long, but right now your mother wants you downstairs and you must hurry."
