Meanwhile, Vicky had stopped snipping the roses and was listening to their conversation, with the cutters in one hand and an expression of dumbfounded astonishment on her face. She burst out. "What are you two talking about? Now I know you're getting sick. You have Tom doing the same thing. Who is this Claudine you're discussing?" Penny could see that her sister was very agitated, but she continued to ignore her. It was not her nature to do this, but she was so engrossed in her conversation with Tom that Vicky did not exist for the moment. She wanted to elicit as much information as possible from him while he was in a talkative mood.
