Show - 102 - the house and disappeared indoors. Dirk stood there for a long moment and then turned and walked abruptly out of the gate and disappeared into the Eucalyptus grove. Penny looked around her, in a daze, and there was her family sitting around the tables. Vicky was dancing and everyone was clapping their hands in rythmn to the music. For a moment, she could not come to grips with reality. She found it difficult to make the transition from the past to the present. After a few moments, she came out of the gazebo and walked past the family, who did not notice her because of the dancing, and went into the house, straight into the kitchen where Maddie was washing the dinner dishes. She looked at Penny and a strange feeling of misgiving came over girl her. Something traumatic had happened to the and it frightened her. It was about the ghost, of that she was certain. She turned from the sink and started to wipe her hands on the towel near by. "Sit down," she said. "Whatever it was that you saw tonight must have been a great shock to you. Did Claudine appear again?" After a moment's hesitation, she continued. "You know, that Tom and I,with your parent's consent and because they have been so concerned about you, have decided that the less we tell you about Claudine and Dirk the better it would be for you." "It's a little late for that now Maddie. It's gone far beyond my control, so it's time for you to answer some questions." Said Penny, in an angry tone of voice. "What do you want to know?" said Maddie, soothingly as she could see that the young girl was becoming disraught. "Why didn't you tell me that Claudine had married Andre? I was at their wedding a moment ago." A look of actual fear came over Maddie's face as she said this. "Oh, Penny, another one of your trances! Indeed, you will have your parents deeply worried if they knew. |
