When they reached the bottom of the steps, Vicky turned to her sister and said. "Pen, I hope you know what you are doing. I pray with all my heart that you don't hurt yourself irreparably." Penny did not answer, but nodded her head and walked toward the big house. Tom turned to Maddie after they were out of earshot. "She's not going to find out anything from that scoundral, but we must give her a little rein otherwise we might be sorry." Maddie murmured in agreement. |
