Show -US- settlement was concluded on December 1, l664.4a (4) New York and Connecticut Boundary Agreement of 1683* Encroachment by New York upon Connecticut was protested against as a violation of the earlier agreement of l664.5 Commissioners were appointed to negotiate for the settlement of these difficulties6 and an agreement was concluded between the governors of the two Colonies on November 28, l683.7 It was confirmed by the General Court of Connecticut on May 8, l684.8 A supplemental agreement dealing with the same boundary was concluded between the commissioners of the two Colonies on March 28* 1700.9 (5) Connecticut and Rhode Island Boundary Agreement of 1703: Commissioners were appointed by the two Colonies in 1699 10 and 1702,11 and concluded an agreement on May 12, 1703.12 The commissioners that were appointed to run the line in accordance with this agreement failed after nu- merous attempts to come to any acceptable decision.13 Finally in 1720 an appeal was taken to the King. 14- In 1726 he confirmed the earlier agree- ment of 1703 15 After further minor disputes the line was run in accord- ance with this agreement* 16 (6) Massachusetts and Rhode Island Boundary Agreements of 1710 and 1719* A partition line agreed upon by commissioners of the two Colonies on January 19, 1710, was accepted by Massachusetts on March 16, 1710.17 Com- missions appointed to run the line thus determined were- given powers to Report of the Commissioners on New York-Connecticut Boundary* N. By the Act of June 25, 1719, New York appointed a com- mission to run this line again, providing that the line thus established should "be invalid until the King should assent thereto.
