Show This Indenture, Made the May 1895, by and between Hall Hanlon, the party of the first part, and the Golden Cross Mining & Milling Company, a corporation duly organized and existing under the laws of the State of California, the party of the second part, Witnesseth: That the party of the first part of San Diego County, State of California, lessor, does hereby lease, remise, and let unto the party of the second part of Los Angeles County, State of California, lessee, the following described real estate, to wit: That part or parcel of land marked by stakes, containing five acres, more or less, and more particularly described as follows, to wit: Beginning at the N. E. corner of Sec. 35, Township 16 S. of Range 21 East, S. B. Meridian, thence running West five (5) chains; thence South two (2) chains to N. E. cor. of the land above mentioned; thence running West ten (10) chains; thence South five (5) chains; thence East ten (10) chains; thence North five (5) chains to the point of beginning at the N. E. corner as aforesaid, containing five (5) acres. To Have and to Hold for the term of ninety-nine (99) years, to wit, from the day of May, 1895, to the day of May, 1994. The consideration thereof is the sum of Seventy-two ($72.) Dollars this day paid by the party of the second part to the party of the first part in cash, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged upon the execution and delivery of this instrument. The purpose for which this lease is made is to establish and place upon the said above described lands a pumping plant, engines, pumps, wells, boilers and all machinery and appliances necessary for said pumping plant, and also for the purpose of establishing a wood |
