Show -5- issued out of the Superior Court of Los Angeles County to Harry Hawgood, April 21st, 1894, which said property was transferred by Harry Hawgood to C. R. Rock-wood by Bill of Sale dated Los Angeles, June 21st, 1894; and transferred by C. R. Rockwood to W. T. Heffernan by Bill of Sale dated Los Angeles November 12, 1895; and transferred by W. T. Heffernan to Philip Van Vol-kenburgh by Bill of Sale dated New York, July 31st, 1896, subject to a lien in favor of said Heffernan for $3500 payable on demand without interest, which amount is to be paid by the Company before full title to said property is acquired by it, which property consists of wagons, engineering instruments, camp equipage, notes of surveys, profile maps, field books, and furniture, some of which notes and drafting instruments are situated in Room 40, Stowell Block, Los Angeles, and a list of all which property is attached to said Bills of Sale, delivered to the California Development Company simultaneously with the execution of this agreement. Fourth: Also a contract between J. W. Shanklin, County of Alameda, California, and S. W. Fergusson by which said Shanklin contracts to sell and convey a one-half interest in certain property of San Diego, called the Hanlon Heading, to said Fergusson, which contract is dated February 20, 1896, which said contract of February 20, 1896 was assigned and transferred by S. W. Fergusson to Philip Van Volkenburgh, by assignment dated New York, August ........, 1896. |
