Show 5384 Q When was the first time that you had any experience with boating on the Green river? A With a row boat, 1903, I believe, -- fall of 1903. Q How far down the river did you go in that boat? A Went to the Cataracts, one hundred and twenty- five miles below the Greenriver bridge. Q Did you have any power on it? A Oars, is all,-- man power. Q What season of the year did you go down? A Sir? Q What time of the year did you go down? A October that year I went down. We make those trips in the fall, the hunting season, October. Q What was this, a hunting trip? A Yes sir. Q About what size boat was that? A Built out of sixteen- foot lumber, be about fifteen foot in length and about three and a half foot beam. Q How much draft? A With two men in there, probably draw about six or seven inches with their bedding and provisions for thirty days. Q Did you bring the boat back up the river? |
