Q I am going to ask again for a comparison of the stream of the Colorado river between the foot of Cataract canyon -- the Utah- Arizona line -- and the Green river, over that portion of the Green river that you say you went up stream. You can answer this question, I think, yes or no. From your experience on those stretches of the two rivers that I have indicated, would you not say that the difficulties of navigating up stream are greater on the Green than on the lower Colorado, with the single exception of the matter of power required to cause the boat to go up stream? MR. BLACKMAR: I object to that question, first, because it is repetition, and I object to it for the further reason the witness is not required to answer any such question as that yes or no. He has given a perfect explanation as to the difference between the operation of boats on these two rivers; that, from the standpoint of evidence, is much more valuable than any answer of yes or no to a question of that kind.
