A No, didn't have any one that was using it there; it was built up the river, and moved it down. We used it for that. Q Was this windlass they used to bring this barge up and let it down the river, and was it a hand windlass, or was it equipped -- A Just a hand windless. Q How many men did it take to operate it? A Couple of men to pull her up there. Q Approximately how long a time would it take to run the barge up stream with the windless that mile? A I couldn't remember that; I couldn't tell. In high water it was harder to turn it, it turned slower, than in low water.
