Show 5420 Yokey- C 3431 BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q That is, as to the keeping open of the channel. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q What would be the effect, in you opinion? A Thirty miles below Greenriver bridge -- the Denver & Rio Grande bridge, the trips have no effect on them, because that is gravel. From there on down is sand; and my experi-ence is the frequent trips would cause it to cut a channel as the river is falling. and benefit it. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q And would keep it open? A Yes. Have no effect on the upper river, where the gravel is, thirty miles above. Q These shallow places you spoke of, below the mouth of the San Rafael, are at points where there is gravel? A No gravel. Q Where there is sand? A Sand where they cross, where the currents cross from one point to the other and spreads out. Q Those shallow places are in the sand at a point below the San Rafael? |
