Show 5314 Chaffin- D 3325 A The first sand waves ever I remember of nothing on the Colorado river was the winter of 18990, when we went down to the Klondike bar, and right below where the San Juan came in, the first bad sand waves; never knowed what a sand wave was until I came down the San Juan. FARNSWORTH: Q The water on the streams concerning which you have been testifying, particularly the Colorado and the San Juan, is at very stage in December, is it not? A The lowest stage in February. Q I am not asking you about the lowest stage. It is at a very low stage in December, isn't it? A Yes, you bet. I thought you asked me when it was the lowest. Q You think it gets a little lower in February? A Yes, it gets a little lower in February. Some winters when it is freezing back, and holds the water back, it freezes back a little. Q The water is at the lowest stage during the months of December, January and February? A Yes sir. |
