Show I Imperial Irrigation District, providing for a connection with 9 Laguna Dam; but the Secretary of the Interior is authorized 8 to modify the said contract, with the consent of the said 4 district, and also to enter into contract or contracts with the 5 said district or other districts, persons, or agencies for the 6 construction, in accordance with this Act, of said canal and 7 appurtenant structures, and also for the operation and 8 maintenance thereof, with the consent of the other users. 9 Sec. 11. "Political subdivision" or "political sub- 10 divisions " as used in this Act shall be understood to include II any State, irrigation, or other district, municipality, or other 12 governmental organization. 13 " Reclamation law " as used in this Act shall be under- 14 stood to mean that certain Act of the Congress of the United 15 States approved June 17, 1902, entitled "An Act appro- 16 priating the receipts from the sale and disposal of public 17 land in certain States and Territories to the construction of 18 irrigation works for the reclamation of arid lands," and the 19 Acts amendatory thereof and supplemental thereto. 20 " Maintenance " as used herein shall be deemed to 21 include in each instance provision for keeping the works 22 in good operating condition. 23 Sec. 12.
