Show 12 1 reservoir, canals, and other works and the storage, diver- 2 sion, delivery, and use of water for the generation of power, 8 irrigation, and other purposes, anything in this Act to the 4 contrary notwithstanding, and all permits, lioensea, and con- 5 tracts shall so provide. 6 (c) Also the United States, in constructing, managing, 7 and operating the dam, reservoir, canals, and other works 8 herein authorized, including the appropriation, delivery, and 9 use of wnter for the generation of power, irrigation, or 10 other uses, and all users of water thus delivered and all 11 users and appropriators of waters stored by said reservoir 12 and/or carried by said canal, including all permittees and 18 licensees of the United States or any of its agencies, shall 14 observe and be subject to and controlled, anything to the 15 contrary herein notwithstanding, by the terms of such com- 16 pact, if any, between the States of Arizona, California, and 17 Nevada, for the equitable division of the benefits, including 18 power, arising from the use of water accruing to said States, 19 subsidiary to and consistent with said Colorado River com- 20 pact, which may be negotiated and approved by said States 21 and to which Congress shall give its consent and approval 22 on or before 31 arch 4, 1927; and the terms of any such 2:5 compact concluded between said States and approved and 24 consented to by Congress after said date: Provided, That in 25 the latter case such compact shall be subject to all contracts, |
