Mr. Johnson introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Public Lands and Surveys. A BILI To provide for the protection and development of the lower Colorado River Basin. 1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 3 That for the purpose of providing for the regulation, con- 4 trol, and development of the Colorado River, an international, 5 interstate, and navigable stream, in accordance with a com-(> prehensive and unified plan, conserving natural resources, 7 aiding flood control, water supply, and power develop- 8 nieiit, the United States hereby reserves to itself the exclusive 9 right to construct, provide, and control dams, reservoirs, or 10 diversion works upon the main trunk of said river below the 11 mouth of the Green River. 67th CONGRESS, 2d Sxmion, |
