Show 14 1 payments to be made in such installments and at such 2 times as may be specified by the Secretary of the Interior, 8 in accordance with the provisions of the said reclama- 4 tion law, and shall constitute revenue from said project 5 and be covered into the fund herein provided for: Pro- 6 oided, That all persons who have served in the United 7 States Army, Navy, or Marine Corps during the war with 8 Germany, the war with Spain, or in the suppression of the 9 insurrection in the Philippines, and who have been honor- 10 ably separated or discharged therefrom or placed in the 11 Regular Army or Navy Reserve, shall have the exclusive 12 preference right for a period of three months to enter said 13 lands, subject, however, to the provisions of subsection c 14 of section 4, Act of December 5, 1924 (Forty-third Statutes 15 at Large, page 702) ; and also, so far as practicable, pref- 16 erence shall be given to said persons in all construction work 17 authorized by this Act: Provided further, That in the event 18 such an entry shall be relinquished at any time prior to 19 actual residence upon the land by the entryman for not 20 less than one year, lands so relinquished shall not be sub- 21 ject to entry for a period of sixty days after the filing and 22 notation of the relinquishment in the local land office, and 23 after the expiration of said sixty-day period such lands shall 24 be open to entry, subject to the preference in this section 25 provided. |
