Show 17 1 charge the fund with the amount so certified as repayment of 2 the advances made under subdivision (b), which amount 3 shall be covered into the Treasury to the credit of miscellar 4 neous receipts, and shall be available for the purposes 5 specified in subdivision (g). 6 (f) In order to make the advances to the fund, the 7 Secretary of the Treasury may, if he deems it advisabh, 8 exercise the authority granted by the various Liberty Bond 9 Acts and the Victory Liberty Loan Act, as amended and 10 supplemented, to issue bonds, notes, and certificates of 11 indebtedness of the United States; and any bonds so issued 12 shall be disregarded in computing the maximum amount of 13 bonds authorized by section 1 of the Second Liberty Bond 14 Act, as amended. 15 (g) The Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and 16 directed to use, upon such terms and conditions as he may 17 prescribe, for the payment, redemption, or purchase, at not 18 to exceed par and accrued interest, of any bonds, notes, or 19 certificates of indebtedness of the United States, the money 20 covered into the Treasury under subdivision (e) in repay- 21 ment of the amounts advanced. 22 Sec. 3. There is hereby authorized to be appropriated 23 from time to time, out of any money in the Treasury not 24 otherwise appropriated, such sums of money as may be |
