Show 17 1 Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming for the purpose of making such 2 information available to said States and to the Congreis, 3 and of formulating a comprehensive scheme of headwater 4 control and the improvement and utilization of the water 5 of the Colorado River and its tributaries. The sum of 6 $2.50,000 is hereby appropriated from said Colorado River 7 dam fund, created by section 2 of this Act, for such purposes. 8 Sfx3. 15. The jurisdiction, power, and authority of the 9 Federal Power Commission to issue licenses for the purpose 10 of constructing, operating, and maintaining dams, water con- 11 duits, reservoirs, power houses, transmission lines, or other 12 project works necessary or convenient for'the development 13 and improvement of navigation on the Colorado River and 14 its tributaries, and for the development, transmission, and J5 utilization of power across, along, from, or in the Colorado 16 River and its tributaries, or upon any part of the public 17 lands or reservations of the United States abutting upon the 18 Colorado River or its tributaries, or for the purpose of 19 utilizing the surplus water or water power from any Govern- 20 ment dam constructed or proposed to be constructed upon 21 the Colorado River or its tributaries, is hereby suspended 22 until the Colorado River compact is ratified as provided in 23 section 12. 24 Sec. 16.
