Show Judy Sloan, ASUU Secretary, concentrated on the expansion of ASUU public relations. Besides being in charge of the ASUU Awards program, she made a concentrated effort to make the problems of student government known to the student body, the administration, the Utah Legislature, and the community.Marilyn McKay, Personnel Coordinator, made many contributions to the effective and continuing functioning of student government. She was advisor to the freshman cabinet and made contributions to activities such as Orientation Week, Homecoming, Ute Charity Drive, and Summer School committee.Steve Harmsen, ASUU Treasurer, as chairman of the finance committee helped to determine fiscal policy. He was concerned with the problem of utilizing more effectively the money we spend. He was the Executive Council's representative on the Athletic board and was also active on the Awards committee.Sharon Thorne, Union Board Chairman, worked closely with the Union director to provide more opportunities and facilities for the students. Among these were the art gallery, the darkroom committee and the proposed new food-service area in the basement. She also acted as hostess for the ACU convention on our campus.131 |
