Show Mr. Paul Lorenzi says, "A painter has to create his style." He likes things to happen by themselves naturally. He hopes to paint abstract paintings, but he hasn't as yet had the opportunity. Water color is Mr. Lorenzi's field, "it is like an art of love." He especially likes to paint the outdoors, where he can show expression and feeling. This imaginative scholar specializes in the 17th and 18th century of French art. He is interested in this era because these paintings are so rich; and have a close relationship to poetry.Jesse D. JenningsProfessor, AnthropologyAnthropology is important in today's world "Because of the insights it gives young people into their own behavior as well as the behavior of other peoples." A member of the Anthropology Department since 1948, Professor Jennings has lectured at several conferences, including the Semi-Centennial Symposium on American Archeology at Rice University in 1962. This symposium resulted in his book, Prehistoric Man in the New World."There is a gold mine of opportunity that students don't take advantage of simply because they don't know about it," says Maurine Heg-sted of the Home Economics Department. She emphasizes the importance of home economic classes to the non-major because of their practical value to the students. Mrs. Hegsted enjoys the home economics field and finds her classes fun and exciting.Paul R. LorenziLecturer, Art and SculptureMaurine N. Hegsted Instructor, Foods and Nutrition30 |
