Show GWEANTaking its name from the Anglo-Saxon word for "queen," Cwean selected for membership junior women who were among the most oustanding in scholarship and activities. Applicants were required to have at least a 2.7 grade point average, and each girl chosen was considered "a woman of excellence in her sphere." Throughout the year Cwean held weekly meetings with outstanding speakers in the areas of political science, sociology, literature, and culture. Acting as the official campus hostesses, members conducted bus tours of the campus during Homecoming and assisted with the I.A.W.S. convention.
