Show Donald J. Bergsma Professor, ArchitectureActing as advisor to the student chapter of the American Institute of Architecture is one of the many things that Professor Donald J. Bergsma does on our campus. "The A.I.A. is a student chapter, which represents a national chapter that lets the students become involved in architecture projects while still in school." Professor Bergsma is also the editor of the Utah Architect, and a member of the University Scholastic Standards Committee.Clarice E. ShortProfessor, EnglishDr. Clarice Short, University English professor, is a graduate of the University of Kansas. She joined the University faculty in 1946. Dr. Short has served students outside the classroom as a faculty sponsor of Mortar Board and the Associated Women Students. Dr. Short believes that the most desirable quality in teaching is a breath of understanding as well as knowledge.With a strong belief in the Gestalt Psychology of teaching the whole child as an individual, Professor Reid Miller developed a method for effectively teaching elementary students the eight parts of speech. Due to the results of this method, he was granted a scholarship to Columbia University to study the teaching of the deaf. He then came to the University of Utah where he was instrumental in programming the junior undergraduate sequence of speech problems in education.Reid C. MillerInstructor, Speech |
