Show 254 French portrait painter (watercolor and oil), engraver, and lithographer, born in Lille, November 25, 1801. Desmadryl was a student of Lethieres at the Izcole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, beginning in 1829. He reproduced in lithography and engraving works by Raphael, Desmoulins, Decamps, Guet, Delacroix, Roqueplan, A. Scheffer, Destouches, and others, and exhibited in the Paris salons between 1831 and 1849. DuCasse, Jean-Eugene: (French, 1817- ? ) Tableau 48, Indian Utensils and Arms Vignette XXX, Horse Racing of the Sioux Indians (with Doherty) French engraver and etcher, born in Paris in 1817. Ducasse was a student of Corot, Chasse>iau , and £mile Rouargue. He exhibited an etching. Solitude, after Corot. in the salon of 1857. He also produced a series of views of Paris, published as Promenades parisiennes: he worked for the Galerie historique de Versailles, producing portraits of Herzog's Claude Gouffier and of Louis de Saint Gelais. Fournier, Amable Nicolas: (French, 1789-1854) Vignette XXI, The Elkhorn Pyramid on the upper Missouri French engraver, born in Cayeux in 1789; died in Paris, June 22, 1854. Fournier was best known for his engravings of natural history subjects, especially of birds, insects, and crustaceans. Fournier exhibited in the Paris salons between 1835 and 1850; he executed some of the plates for a small folio volume entitled Les Tableaux de la Penitence.
