Mankten-Sioux , 37.8cm x 28.6cm. (In this pencil sketch, Psfdja-Sahpa is paired with Tukan-Haton; both portraits are reversed, facing right, rather than to the left, as in KBA #190. This sketch was probably a working drawing which was rejected, as Bodmer attempted to combine various portraits for his aquatints. Bodmer eventually paired Psfdja-Sahpa, facing left~as in the original watercolor portrait-with Noapeh, facing right. Tukan-Haton, the Sioux chief who appears with Psfdja-Sahpa in this rejected sketch, was not used for an aquatint, but appeared as a woodcut illustration in the text of Travels^.
