Since this album was sold in fascicles, exact dating of individual etchings would vary). 1834 Bodmer returned to Europe in July of 1834. He remained to the end of September, 1834, in the Cologne area, working on his unfinished American paintings and probably started work on some new watercolors for Malerische Ansichten des Rheins und der Lahn. finally delivered in 1836. Bodmer traveled to Zurich at the end of October, 1834, with a letter of introduction to Heinrich Schinz and to show his American watercolors to his uncle J. J. Meier. On December 18, 1834, he returned to Neuwied, spent Christmas in Coblenz, and then returned to Zurich. He visited with his family and spoke with Hegi, who, according to Lang, was etching some of his Rhine paintings. 1835 Bodmer arrives at Neuwied on October 13, 1835, with the lithographs for Schinz's Natural History. water co lor: Binaen. watercolor and pencil underdrawing, 29,6 x 43,7cm.
