Show 313 (New York Public Library, Avery collection, possibly purchased at estate sale in 1894. Catalog # MEZAC). 8" x 11-3/4" volume, commercially bound, 50 pages. Paper: thick, stiff wove, brown drawing paper. Condition: acidic, brittle, discolored, edge damage and various types of staining, poor contrast between drawings and paper. Note: An old exhibition card incorrectly atributes this sketchbook to the original 1832-34 trip. The drawings are exclusively of birds and animals, studies rather than sketches, detailed sections/small drawings, 6-10 per page.
