( "''It It ) ( may iway ) be reasonable to assume that at this ( time tinic ) ( ( July Tuly ) , 1884 ) Green River was ( discharging dischargilig- dischargilig ) 100,000 ( second-feet secondfeet secoild-feet secoildfeet ) . This ( would woidd ) indicate that the flood of 1884 reached a stage of 225,000 ( second-feet secondfeet secoild-feet secoildfeet ) in Cataract Canyon . * * * By extending a ( well-defined welldefined ) rating ( curve carve ) for the Lees ( Perry Ferry ) ( gaging gag-hig gaghig ) station it ( was vas ) ( found foiind ) that the flood of ( 1884 1881 ) may have reached a stage of about 250,000 ( second-feet secondfeet ) . Variation in depth To a limited extent the variations in flow are an index to the variations in depths . The ( observa observa- observa ) tions at the various ( gaging gaghig ) stations ( are aTe ) ( the the- the ) best ( evi- evi ) dence of variations in depth , and detailed studies are contained in Exhibit 82 and Exhibit ( 82-A 82A ) from which the following conclusions are drawn : ( Green Greeit ) River at Green River , Utah . ( -Oirl Oirl ) Plate 2 , Exhibit ( 82-A 82A ) , it is ( shown shovn ) that the mean depth at the gaging station varies ( from froill ) less than 3 feet with discharge of 2,000 ( second-feet secondfeet secoud-feet secoudfeet ) to a mean depth of somewhat over 12 feet at flood stage of between ( 30,000 301000 ) and 40,000 ( second-feet secondfeet ) . As shown ( on oil ) Plate 9 the mean depth at the gaging station for half of the time is less than 4.2 feet and less than 3 feet for 53 days ( on oil ) the average each year . ( -The The ) detailed study of the physical characteristics of Green River ( Exhibit 75 ) shows that ( during durincr ) the periods of low and ( medium niediuni ) flow |
