Show GODDARD IS Page Pratt Neely stood 35-10 for the Aggies. Hawley and Worth-ington were seemingly unstopable, and in fact the whole Farmer team was a constant threat to Utah's defense. The second battle turned out to be much more interesting, for the Utes were only defeated by five points, and had their offensive functioned anywhere near to standard form the score might have told a different story. The succeeding series was played in Provo, with Utah determined to avenge the two defeats received at the hands of the Farmers. So, the initial game was a riot, for Utah met their foe at their own game and literally outshot them. Lyon and Boberg were unbeatable in converting from the center of the floor, and in fact,. what was supposed to be the Cougars stronghold in their own lair, proved to be their undoing. Roberts replaced Woods in this series and did very well. The difference in the results between the first night and the second evening was that in the first night Utah shot and made them count, whereas in the second encounter the boys shot, but couldn't make anything count. Utah was fighting just as hard as ever, but the Cougars gritted their teeth, and fought a great deal harder. They presented an improved team, as evidenced by the record turned in by their elongated center, Golden Romny. The result of it all was that the Provoites annexed the second battle after a bitter struggle. In the following series the Aggies met a much improved team. Changes in the lineup and the experience of the previous games had added greatly to Utah's effectiveness. Consequently the Loganites, after winning the first engagement with great difficulty, were clearly outclassed in the second. The Crimson's offense was easily on a par with that of the Farmers, which had been a feature of their work all season. Led by Captain Boberg every man contributed his share to the score column. This activity on the part of the locals gave the subs an opportunity to display their wares. Pratt, Rowberry Hill, Jonas u n d Tlumber |
