Show Henry Jorgensen Halfback Utah-LJ. A. C. for the championship, the Crimson Warriors met to the task of preparing for the invasion of the Farmers from the north. The Aggies not only invaded Cummings field, but they left it victorious, for they not only had beaten Utah, and had wo nthe state championship, but they had also tied the Utes for second place in the conference rating. Early in the game an Aggie lineman blocked a kick, and with this advantage the fleet footed Thomas and his cohorts, carried the ball over Utah's defense for six-points. From this point on, Utah made a desperate attempt to tally, but the old Phillip "Phil" Debs End drive was gone, and the best the local prides could do was to register six points from the toe of Boberg. However the Loganites also proved quite adept in this department, for they not only tallied the odd point after the touchdown, but they also registered three points from the field in a well placed boot. Utah followers still feel that the best team lost, but that on Thanksgiving day the Aggies deserved, to win, and that they can only bring satisfaction to themselves by recanting that time worn threat-"wait till next year." In concluding the review of the football season we feel that prospects for next year are as promising or even more so than they were last year. The players in being acquainted with the methods of our coach is a distinct advantage over the conditions that both coach and aspirants met with last year. The loss however of Captain Gene Livingston, Cal Boberg, Richards Jones, Moyle, Champion, and Rock will be keenly felt. The prospects from, the freshmen will make up for this handicap to a great extent however, and there is no question but what Utah will make a good account of herself in the Conference race next fall. i 170 7L 0 u n d Up 71 u m b e r |
