Show Hillcrest Joel P. Jensen applied High School, Home of the Huskles. for the first National Honor Secondary, Com munity and Adult education programs in Jordan School District. Mr. Schick has two vice principals, a vice principal intern, four counselors, registrar, law officer and a faculty of one hundred plus staff for a student body, in 1979, of 2,373. Our appreciation to Principal DelMar Schick and Hillcrest students for research and cooperation. Society charter from Jordan District when he was principal at Bingham High School and in 1968, Hillcrest received the second National Honor Society charter in the district. With Mr. Jensen's understanding and en couragement, an experienced and dedicated staff made Hillcrest a first class school. Student body pride and spirit developed early and fine traditions were established. We have searched many old records for the information we found. Tremendous growth has taken place in Midvale and the Jordan School District in the past few years. From the one little mud hut in West Jordan (Midvale) the district in 1979 has grown to 53 schools with 44,030 students. In 1852, one teacher taught the only school in the valley. Today, 3,594 school personnel operate the schools and projected growth by 1983 is for 84 schools with 62,000 students. 95 |
