Show INTERVIffi{: Mr. and Mrs. Salazar Page 18 ES: He said, " I am sorry that in the city they go about complaining about discrimination, not only you people, " he said, "Germans, Dutch, and others, they claim they are discriminating," and it's true. This movement that goes around ... I guess it shouldn't, what we should do like, I feel that way myself, the only way to make a living and be happy. work for it, regardless what you get, make a budget, and work and support the government. The government is good. Now we old people get Social Security, good Social Security. The church is giving us very good insurance. Me and my wife, we only pay $4 a month. If I die, she gets $2500, and if she dies I get $2000. And we got this insurance covers what the medicare don't cover, if we go to the hospital. So the church is doing their part, the state is doing their part, and the nation is trying to help people that. . but still we have, we have a lot of people that are feeling ... but that don't help. Look at the poor Indians there down in South Dakota ... don't help. Look what these other Indians in the reservations, the Navajos, said to the Indians, "It's too bad, we shouldn't take rifles to .. to shoot the government." The government has been good, discrimination against Chicano, they claim they have, I |
