Show INTERVIEl-1: Salazar Page ls HS: Really, but permanently our home was in Wyoming that is what we called home, in fact, I think up until today I think Wyoming is my home. BH: Now, where is this? NS: Well, I live in the northern part of Wyoming in Basin, Wyoming for 18 years and all we did was work as migrants but in 1948 I told my husband, I said, 'I am not going to stay here and work in the beets. I am sick and tired to work in these beets to make a living.' I said, 'What I am going to do is just move out of here and go somewhere to a c i ty where I can get a job myself. ' He was against that because, well, he didn ' t, well I don ' t know my husband he like somebody to help him with the support you know . So anyway, in 1948 we moved to, we moved to Rawlins because he went to work with the Union Pacific and we stayed in Rawlins, well, not in Rawlins in Wamsutter that is where we lived. And he worked three years then we moved out of there. _Well really I moved out, I was going to go somewhere by myself and I took my kids and I went to Laramie, and ever since I went to Laramie, it was 1952, I went to work in the cafes. I started to work in a dishwasher, what else could I do? I didn't know nothing. Well, just dumb nothing. So I worked in one place for three and a half years hardly any days off, just work and I worked about 3 months as a dishwasher then I got myself lucky. I got a chef that liked me pretty well.
