Sa lazar Page 17 all that, you know; that General in Santa Fe told the Nexican people that if you stay, you will be citizens of Mexican descent, and if you go across the land you will be Mexicans; we like you to stay, that is what he told them ... the Mexicans in Las Vegas. And the way they conquer Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Las Vegas, the Army, the American Army, they didn't want to kill those poor Mexicans, it was just didn't have arms ------- to defend themselves. So the General ... what was the name? Kenny ... something like that, told the people, I got the pictures. Well, he told the people in Las Vegas, "Here we are. If you surrender, you will have the same privileges. I heard so much about discrimination, well ... I never did had any. BM: You never did feel any discrimination? ES: No, I never ..• like the rest of the world. .always discriminate, even families discriminate their own children. But I don't go by that, I believe like my ----------said. I believe in the constitution, for all man that become citizens. I had a letter from the government, the state governor, he told me there, that he know I was a citizen before he was a citizen. BM: Oh yeah? |
