Show 1 t4j-E UTON IAN STUDENT STAFF I The cadet officers of the R. O. T. C. are chosen each year from among the students of the Military Science and Tactics Department. The men are selected from their records made in scholarship and school activities. The very backbone of the R. O. T. C. unit lies in these officers. H Among the many duties performed by them is the directing of the Military Prom. This is one of the most brilliant of the social functions of the year and is rivalled only by the Junior Prom. ? Athletics play a great part in the life of the officer. The student is afforded the opportunity to participate in such sports as polo, riding, pistol, and rifle shooting, and intramural competition is provided for all. H A Merit Battery has been organized to give recognition to those cadets worthy of special commendation. This battery is the goal of all cadets. The regimental officers for the past year have been: Blaine B. Campbell, Harold Greene, George Clark, Richard L. Brown, Clifford Barrow, and Paul Badger. Blaine B. Campbell Cadet Colonel I Blaine B. Campbell was chosen by Major Gillispie for the position of Cadet Colonel because of his hiyh grades throughout his three years of instruction and his outstanding ability as a leader which he so ably displayed in the summer camp at Fort Warren, Wyoming. I Colonel Campbell is to also be congratulated for his passing of the Army Air School physical examination which entitles him to enter Randolf Field at San Antonio, Texas, in the near future. |
