Show LADIES' DOUBLE QUARTETTE STRING QUARTETTE ?No other organization on the University of Utah campus has been more popular nor more active than has the Women's Varsity Double Quartette in its past year's work. ? The first sopranos of the group were Beth Papworth and Lela Bixby, the second sopranos, Doris Snyder and Betty Strong, the first altos, Virginia Allison and Maza Thompson, and the second altos, Marjorie Teudt and Peggy Crawford. Barbara Strong was the accompanist. ? The best of all University musical talent is represented by the University of Utah String Quartette. The activities of this picked group of musicians have been many and varied during the past year. Appearances with the orchestra and individually at social functions, churches, high schools, and hospitals were frequent. ? The members of the quartette were: Alma Dittmer, first violin, Anker Schade, second violin, William Hogenson, viola, and Helen Barton, cello.
