Show Snyder One Hundred Seventy-six BASKETBALL ? Fate seems to relegate Utah hoop title hopes elsewhere despite potential strength which rates on a par with the opposing colleges. However, since coming to Utah in 1927 Vadal Peterson has produced one conference title and often finished as divisional runner-up. ? Along with his basketball duties, Peterson scouts enemy football teams and aids Armstrong during track season. TENNIS ? Besides mincing his interests in numerous campus affairs, TheronS. Parmelee acts as coach to the talented Ute netters, who have an annual habit of winning R. M. C. Western Division championships. Parmelee was a netter of some note in his collegiate days and imparts his knowledge of the court game to Redskin honor bearers at every opportunity. POLO ? Captain Russel C. Snyder, amiable R. O. T. C. officer, battled obstacles in an effort to maintain the Polo sport in the Ute athletic curriculum this year. ? Snyder passed the pistol coaching to Captain Craig and replaced Captain C. C. Murray in the turf sport. Without competition, since Colorado A. C. dropped polo, Utah riders contented themselves with combat against Fort Douglas mallet-swingers. |
