Show POLO ?Lack of sufficient water to keep the playing field in proper condition prevented an intrasquad tourney from being held by the polo adepts. ?After strenuous drilling during the fall months, the squad was divided into four teams, scheduled to compete for a trophy. After the tourney was cancelled, however, a team representing the school played an exhibition game during the Fort Douglas horse show. The polo team has worked under a severe handicap since Colorado Aggies dropped the sport from their program. PISTOL ?The Utah pistol team, under the coaching of Captain M. L. Craig, upheld the reputation set by previous teams when they broke even in a dozen matches shot with other teams. ? The Utes registered victories over Culver, Illinois, Florida, Virginia Military Academy, Salt Lake Police, and Princeton. They lost to Iowa State, Oklahoma, Purdue, Wisconsin, Missouri, and Colorado Aggies. All in all they scored 15,704 points to their opponents' 15,551. Frank Fullmer and Lewis Banker were the consistent high scorers for the Utes throughout the season. POLO TEAM Two Hundred Thirteen |
