Show MEN'S GLEE CLUB THOMAS GILES Director ? "But the real show is put on by the University of Utah Men's Glee Club. Those boys are good. And their performance last night was a real tribute to the ability of Professor Thomas Giles, their instructor." ? This newspaper quotation is an accurate expression of the opinion of the Salt Lake City public concerning the work done by the Men's Glee Club of the University of Utah during the past year. ? Frank Hampshire, president, Murray By-water, vice-president, Max Bishop, secretary-treasurer, and Veldon Shields, librarian, have, under the supervision of Thomas Giles, piloted the Glee Club through a most active and successful year. ? A week's engagement at a prominent down-town theatre and performances at numerous evening lectures and presentations at Kingsbury Hall featured the activity of the Club. The program given by the men before the recent Schmitz concert met with most favorable comment from many down-town papers. ? The campus spirit of the Club was especially commendable and their cooperation at down-town rallies did much to further the feeling of good-fellowship and enthusiasm evidenced by the student-body for the athletic events in which the school participated. ? Perhaps the largest campus activity of the Men's Glee Club was the presentation of an elaborate assembly program at Kingsbury Hall. The Glee Club was aided in this presentation by the cooperation of the Girls' Piano Octette and the solo work of Chester Hill, accomplished pianist and accompanist of the Glee Club. The capacity audience attending the event was enthusiastic in its praise of the excellence of the program presented. 1,1 I J iJTtikiJ MEN'S GLEE CLUB Two Hundred Eighty-one |
