Show SWIMMING ? Sigma Nu successfully defended the laurels won the previous season when they nosed out Battery A to take top honors in the swimming meet. The meet was not decided until the final relay, in which the fraternity boys nosed out their army rivals. ? The outstanding performer was Larson of the army, who took three first places to annex individual point honors and play the leading role in his team's stand against the defending champions, whose last year's team was practically intact. FREE THROW ? Sigma Chi made up for what it lacked on the basketball court by setting a new record in winning the free throw to nose out the defending champion Sigma Nu outfit. ?In winning the title the Sigma Chis averaged 18.6 out of a possible 25 to the Sigma Nu average of an even 18. The team was composed of Roy Backman, Grant Evans, Ross Sutton, John Trenam, and Thornley Swan. Grant Evans and Byron Thomas of Sigma Nu tied for high individual honors with 22 out of 25.
