The Utes took a terrific beating in their first match, came back to win their next meet, and then to top things off right, they nosed out B.Y.U. to win the Western Division Championship. ? It was on Friday afternoon, February 9th, that the youthful Redskins got their first taste of competition, receiving a severe mauling in the process from the claws of the more experienced sons of Brigham to the tune of 24-8 score. ? Greatly aided by the experience received in the Cougar match, two weeks later the Utes successfully repulsed the raiding Logan Farmers by a 13.5 to 12.5 count. BA week later with Beesley, Grayot and Hunt in the leading roles the Redskin grapplers continued their sensational work to walk off with the Western Division Championship by winning 26 points to 24 for B.Y.U., 21 for U.A.C. and 18 for Montana. ?The great development of the wrestling team during the course of the season certainly speaks great praise for Coach Sherman Couch and the members of the squad. m First row: Beesley, Brimley, Mathews, Murphy, Grayot, Tame, Welti, Maw, Katsieanis.
