Show President Emeritus ? To accomplish anything worthwhile towards making a better world in which to live, we must face conditions in life as they exist and then act upon them as seems best and necessary. If past uses do not fit into the present needs and serve best the masses of the people, we must eliminate them and search out new ways to meet the exigencies of the times. ? We must not become fixed to traditions, to certain governmental laws, to past methods of conducting industrial business and governmental affairs or to out-worn methods of administering education or of teaching. ? To help to bring about the best good for all, to best serve ourselves and our fellow men, we may have to break away from the past with respect to many things. ? In these times of unrest so prevalent, we must remain calm, study world conditions, and think carefully and soundly. Only when this has been done can we act wisely and justly in such a way as to bring about the necessary changes that will best meet the needs of humanity socially and economically. ?The more we think of what changes should be made to best serve mankind, the more we become convinced that the changes effected should conform as nearly as possible to the teachings of the greatest of all men, that humble, gentle Nazarene whose life was given in the service of His fellow men.
