Show I?"U"* DAY 1912.-"U" day, April 16th, 1912, was a complete success, from the administration of the annual bath and the big luncheon, the afternoon en-joyably spent by the aid of a band concert and a matinee dance, through the entire evening, during which the big vaudeville show furnished many an opportunity for roars of laughter.HAYDEN'S "CREATION."-Milton's sublime version of the creation made into a symphony by the masterful Hayden, surprised and delighted a capacity house at the Salt Lake Theatre. To assist the University chorus, Prof. Squire Coop, director, secured M. J. Brines, tenor, Fred Smith, bass, and Mrs. Mar-gret Tout Browning, soprano. The production was repeated Sunday, May 26th on the University campus before an audience of ten thousand people.HIGH SCHOOLS AT THE "U."-In accordance with a new and practical policy of the University to enlist the interests of high school seniors, teachers and principals in its advantages, the high schools of the state were invited to visit the University. Beginning April 26th with the Salt Lake High School, the high schools of the state, including those of Utah couniy, Jordan, Granite, L. D. S., Bingham, Bountiful, Ogden High and Weber Academy each spent a day inspecting the University.'13 YEAR BOOK APPEARS.-The '13 Utonian, amid peanuts, band music, gay decorations and anxious students, made its appearance on May 15 th.CLASS GATES INSTALLED.-The classes of 1906, 1907, and 1908 contracted for the erection of a fine new gateway at the west entrance |
