There is a larva of this genus in the collection from the Valley of the Great Salt Lake, which bears a close resemblance to P. lapidicola. COLEOPTERA. CIOINDELA AUDUBONII, Le Conte.. Ann. Lyceum, N. T. Valley of the Great Salt Lake and Sante F£. PANAG^ US DISTiNCTUS, Hald. Rufous, sparsely hirsute, elytra with a fascia behind the middle, interrupted at the suture, apex blackish. Head scabrous and rather large, prothorax coarsely punctured, wider anteriorly than posteriorly, sides regularly rounded, posterior angles small and acute; dorsal line and region of the posterior angles impressed; elytra striate, with large impressed punctures. Length, three and a- half lines. Colour and general appearance of P. fasciatus, but smaller, with a larger head, the prothorax very different in shape, and the elytra more strongly marked. Sante F6. CABABUS FIN'ITIMUS, Hald. Allied to 0. tylvovus, but somewhat wider. Blank slightly bluish on the margin. Prothora, less narrowed behind than in % ylvo% u8> with the reflex margin and that of the elytra wider.
