It is better to keep down the Chugwater, passing the " Chimney," to Hunter's Spring, and thence to the fort. FO& D or LARAMIE RIVBR- Ford the stream just below the fort. Pass Bissonette's trading- post, five miles from Laramie. CAMP No. 85- On the right bank of the North Platte; good timber and grass for camping purposes. BA&* AU' 3- A trading house, without picket*. Below this, pkae orer a ridgo to avoi't the river, which impinges on the clay banks -. then along; Ha tie bottom. RICHARD'S- Trading- jutut be longing to the American Fur Comp& ay. Average width of hottoui 3 miles, having grass and timber abundant HORSE CRBRK- Timber has become scarce along the river - here there is none. CAMP No. 80- Turning down Horse Creek a short distance; then toward Platte, obliquely, to a small creek. OLD TRAOK- A road lies along the river, but it is not worn; said to be shorter than that by Scott's Bluffs. We ascend gently to the old track, which leaves the river at Horse Creek. SCOTT'S BLUFFS- At a small rivulet, row of old, deserted houses. A spring at the foot of Sandstone Bluffs, where the road orostes the ridge.
