Show 1965 FALL CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT B.P W. CLUBS The Fall Conference of the Southern District B. P. W. Clubs was held at the Ponderosa Cafe in Beaver, Utah on Saturday, October 16,' 1965, at 7:30 p.m. District Director Edna Sargent welcomed those present and introduced the other district officers and the state officers in attendance. Joyce Frisby, President; Anne Kidd, President, and Elva Pierson, in attendance were: State officers 1st Vice-President; Jean Fox, present were: 2nd Vice Corresponding Secretary. Other district officers Blanche Dotson, Vice-Director, and Karla Hulet, Sec. -Treas. Fern Williams, President of the Beaver Club, gave greetings to the group and introduced the other officers from her club. Introducing their club officers were Catherine Crichton from Cedar Lynn from Panguitch. Minutes of the City, Fern Burbidge from Milford, and Fae Spring Conference of 1965 were read and approved. Club collect was given by Dora McMullin of the Beaver Club, following which dinner was served. During the meal, members were entertained with several vocal solos rendered by Nell Smith of Beaver. She sang the following: "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes," "The Man I Love," "May You Always," and "You'll Never Walk Alone .'1 Director Edna announced that Pa.ngu'itch had issued the clubs the Spring Conference 1966 in Panguitch. an invitation to hold The State Officers presented the program, which was introduced in the form of script, with Jean Fox, Blanche Dotson, and Catherine Crichton narrating. A report was given by Pres. Joyce Frisby, who explained the Club Criteria plan stressed by National, the Young Career Woman Program, and the need for special finances to cover state activities and obligations at National Conventions. She also stressed the importance of organizing new clubs and and asked clubs to the increasing membership, study Legislative Platform. Mrs. Frisby also reported her attendance at the Po st Convention Board Meeting. a clever TV As special feature, Pres. Joyce entered the district and club presidents in a pledging to try to make a "hole-in-one" or to increase their membership 100/0 over last year. A golf ball was given each, to remind them of their present standing. Panguitch was awarded the minature golf club because they were nearest their goal, but they were to relinquish this to other clubs if they moved ahead. a Golf Tournament, Anne Kidd gave each presentation showing program planning ideas and methods, using She asked that clubs keep careful records of out standing programs, as this would help in rating national awards. a the B.
