Show FALL CONFERENCE OF SOUTHERN DISTRICT, UTAH FEDFl1ATION OF B.P.W. CLtlBS The Fall Conference of the Business aDd Professional Women's Clubs, Southern Distriet, was held at the Flying M Cafe, Panguitch, Utah on Saturday night, October 5, 1963 at 7 p.m. The banquet tables were appropriately decorated with lovely fall flowers The meetin opeaeG with greetings from Vice-Director Ingra Richards who I and Leaver presided. Pledge pi Allegiance was led by Panguitch President Jean Hansen. Club Collect was led by Panguitch Vice-President Velta Miller. Intoduction of state Officers: Utah Federation President Irene Parsons; ]mmediate past President, Edith Shaw; Second Vice ·resident, Joyce Frisby; State Membership Chairman, Beatrice Oxley; and Chairman of the Legislation Committee, Bessie Anderson. Roll Call of Clubs and membera st. Geore, 7; Pan«uitch, 13. Two vocal selections Mrs. Hope A humorous were preseRt: rendered Truman. BeaTer, 12; Cedar City, 11; Milford, 2; by Mrs. Elaine Riggs, accompanied by her mother reading was given by E.l.izabeth Elmer. The program was under the direction of the State Officers. Talk by President Irene Parsons was on programming in our clubs. She stressed that without proper programming our clubs could not carry on and function as we should. Alae on projects that can be taken up and put over br the clubs. She said, "B.P.W. organization ·has much to offer our country. We must build our Federation on active membership. Women must want to do things to achieve things." ... Talk by State Membership Chairman, Beatrice Oxley. She pointed out, "your own plus membership to maintain our clubs and keep them growing". resident Edith Shaw, strengthening our own club. She said that every member of B.P.W. is part of the over-all membership committee and they should be interested in exte ing the privileges of BPW membership to other business and professional women. Talk by Bessie Anderson, Chairrr of the Legislation Committee. She stated that Legislation is the life-blood of Democracy. Sae said that Woman power can be the greatest moving force in our country, if properly organized and directed. This power can be an important fact.or in directing legislation at a local, state and national level.
