Show SOUTHERN DISTRICT COUNCIL MEETING - October 16, 1965 A council meeting of the club officers in the Southern District was held immediately preceding the Fall District Conference, in Beaver, Utah, Saturday 1965. The group met in the community hall at 7: lOp. m. District Officers Present: Edna Sargent, - October 16, Director Blanche Dotson, Vice-Director Karla Hulet, Secretary-Treasurer Beaver Fern Williams, President Dora McMullin Martis Bowen Milford Fern Burbidge, President Bernice Oxley Clarinth Larson Panguitch Fae Berger Fae Lynn, President Nina Steele Norma Yant Special guest was Jean Fox, State 2nd Vice-President. Director Edna Sargent thanked the ladies for coming and said she felt we should get acquainted and discuss any problems. No problems being raised, she explained that a new club is ready to be officially formed to be known as the Zion B. P. W. Club, but representatives from that group were unable to come The club will consist of ladies from the tonight. Springdale-Hurricane-Zion Park area, some of whom formerly belonged to the St. George Club. It is hoped that something can be done to reactivate the St. George Club. meet and Jean Fox reported on the plans for Youth Power U. S. A. Conferences to be held this year in several locations will be held in throughout the state. One planned in the near future Logan, with Vernal and Provo also to have one. She asked about plans for a conference in this area. Edna asked if the clubs. would support one on a district basis, to be held in Cedar City with Ada Carpenter of the C. S. U. as acting general chairman. All were in favor of this plan, and some suggested that it be held in the Spring, preferably not in May. Director Edna asked that J all clubs send in the name of a Youth Chairman or on a central planning committee.
